Volume su Simone Tasso vince
medaglia d'oro a Chicago
Il volume Simone Tasso e le Poste dello Stato di Milano durante il
Rinascimento ha vinto un'altra medaglia d'oro. Questa volta a Chicago allo
Sheraton Hotel in occasione della prestigiosa mostra filatelica annuale
Chicagopex (20-22 Novembre).
Lo scorso Agosto il volume di Giorgio Migliavacca e Tarcisio Bottani aveva
vinto una medaglia d'oro allo Stampshow dell American Philatelic Society a
Pittsburgh - il maggior evento filatelico dell'anno negli USA. Poi, a fine
Ottobre, a Roma, al festival mondiale della filatelia, Italia 2009,
l'Unione della Stampa Filatelica Italiana (USFI) aveva presentato il suo
maggior riconoscimento, il Premio Apollonio, al volume su Simone Tasso
pubblicato lo scorso anno dal Museo dei Tasso di Camerata Cornello.
Chicagopex e' organizzata annualmente dalla Chicago Philatelic Society
fondata nel 1886. La mostra e' tra le piu' importanti negli USA ed attrae
espositori non solo americani ma anche da tutto il mondo.
Migliavacca-Bottani's book
wins gold in Chicago
The volume Simon Taxis and the
Posts of the State of Milan During the Renaissance by Giorgio Migliavacca
and Tarcisio Bottani has won a gold medal at Chicagopex (20-22 November).
Chicagopex is held annually in November at the Sheraton Hotel Northwest
and is one of the largest and most prestigious stamp exhibitions in the
USA attracting exhibitors and stamp enthusiasts from the USA and the
world.
Last August the book won a gold medal in Pittsburgh at the APS Stampshow -
the largest 2009 philatelic event in USA. And on 23 October at the world
stamp festival in Rome, Italia 2009, the book received the Apollonio Prize,
the top honour from the Philatelic Journalists Guild of Italy.
Dr. Migliavacca is the president of the British Virgin Islands Philatelic
Society. His book was published in 2008 by the by the Taxis Museum at
Cornello, Bergamo, Italy.
Chicagopex was hosted by the Chicago Philatelic Society (CPS) which was
founded in 1886. The American Revenue Association, the Éire Philatelic
Association, the Great Britain Collectors Club, and the State Revenue
Society held their annual conventions in conjunction with Chicagopex 2009.
The show included a Philatelic Exhibition, a Philatelic Literature
Exhibition, the Stamp Club One Frame Exhibition, the CPS Member Showcase,
and a major Dealer Bourse.
